Preview: Canisius Golden Griffins at Mount Saint Mary’s Mountaineers EMMITSBURG, Md. (Interstat) — The Mount Saint Mary’s Mountaineers look to complete a regular-season sweep and solidify their position in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference standings when they host the Canisius Golden Griffins on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at Knott Arena. The Mountaineers (13-15 overall) enter with momentum from a 76-63 home victory over Niagara on Friday. They have won three of their last four games. Guard Luke McEldon is coming off a career-high 25-point performance in that win and has averaged 17.3 points over his last three contests, providing a key scoring spark. Canisius (9-19) snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 72-66 road win at Rider on Friday. The Golden Griffins will lean on forward Bryan Ndjonga, who scored 21 points and blocked three shots in that victory. Ndjonga has been a consistent offensive force, scoring 19 or more points in four of his last eight games. In the teams’ first meeting on Jan. 17 in Buffalo, Mount Saint Mary’s secured a 78-68 win. The Mountaineers have won four of their last six games overall, while the Golden Griffins have struggled on the road, losing eight of their last nine away from home before the win at Rider. The matchup features contrasting styles. Mount Saint Mary’s has found recent success with balanced scoring and efficient offense, averaging 73.3 points during its 3-1 stretch. Canisius, which averages just 66.2 points per game in MAAC play, will need another high-output afternoon from Ndjonga and guard Kahlil Singleton, who added 20 points against Rider, to keep pace. A win would move the Mountaineers closer to a .500 conference record and provide valuable momentum heading into the final week of the regular season. The Golden Griffins aim to build their first winning streak since December and gain a measure of revenge from January’s defeat. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. EST. Mount Saint Mary’s travels to Sacred Heart next Friday, while Canisius hosts Merrimack.
