Preview: Milwaukee Panthers at Oakland Golden Grizzlies AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (Interstat) — The Oakland Golden Grizzlies and Milwaukee Panthers meet Sunday in a Horizon League men’s basketball matchup with both teams looking to halt recent slides. Oakland (14-14 overall) hosts at the Athletics Center O’rena seeking to end a four-game losing streak. Milwaukee (11-18) arrives having lost three of its last four. The Golden Grizzlies won the season’s first meeting, 73-60, in Milwaukee on Jan. 15. A key matchup will feature two of the league’s top guards. Oakland is led by Brody Robinson, who has been a consistent force. He averages 18.1 points and 7.1 assists per game in his last seven contests, including a 24-point, 10-assist performance at Detroit on Jan. 24. Despite the team’s struggles, Robinson has logged 40 minutes in three of the last four games. Milwaukee will counter with Stevie Elam, coming off a 22-point effort in an 86-91 loss at Detroit on Friday. Elam has scored in double figures in five of his last eight games, including a 21-point outing against Cleveland State on Feb. 1. The Panthers have shown offensive sparks, averaging 80.3 points in their last three games, but defense remains a concern after allowing 91 points to Detroit. Oakland’s defense, which held Milwaukee to 60 points in January, has faltered lately, surrendering an average of 85.8 points during its losing streak. For Oakland, Isaac Garrett provides secondary scoring, posting 17 points in the loss to Green Bay. Milwaukee’s Chandler Jackson (13 points vs. Detroit) and Amar Augillard (12 points, 2 blocks) offer supporting roles. With the Horizon League tournament approaching, both teams need a win to build momentum. Oakland aims to get back to .500 in league play, while Milwaukee looks to improve its seeding and avenge January’s home loss. Tip-off is set for Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026.
