Preview: Huskies, Lions Meet in Southland Conference Rematch COMMERCE, Texas (Interstat) β Two Southland Conference teams looking to halt late-season slides will meet Monday when the Texas A&M-Commerce Lions host the Houston Christian Huskies in a menβs NCAA Division I basketball game. Tipoff is set for Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at the Texas A&M-Commerce Field House. Both teams enter with identical 4-11 conference records and are coming off double-digit losses this past Saturday. Houston Christian (10-18 overall) fell 71-53 at Northwestern State, while Texas A&M-Commerce (11-18) dropped an 82-73 home contest to Incarnate Word. The matchup is a quick rematch of a Jan. 17 game, which Houston Christian won 81-70 at home. In that contest, the Huskies built a 15-point halftime lead and held off the Lions. A key player to watch for Houston Christian is guard Kylin Green. He leads the Huskies in scoring during conference play and is coming off a 15-point performance in the loss to Northwestern State. Over his last eight games, Green has averaged 8.9 points and 3.6 assists, including a 12-point, 6-assist effort in a win over New Orleans on Feb. 14. Texas A&M-Commerce will counter with forward Noah Pagotto, who is averaging a team-high 14.2 points in Southland action. Pagotto is coming off a career-high 26 points in the loss to Incarnate Word. He recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds in a win over McNeese State on Feb. 14 and has scored in double figures in eight of his last nine games. Both teams have struggled for consistency in February. The Huskies have lost five of their last seven, with their only wins in that span coming by a combined five points. The Lions have split their last six games, alternating wins and losses. Following this game, Houston Christian will host Stephen F. Austin on Feb. 28. Texas A&M-Commerce will travel to face Texas-Rio Grande Valley on the same date.
