Preview: Northeastern Huskies at Elon Phoenix ELON, N.C. (Interstat) — The Elon Phoenix will look to build on a recent victory and solidify their position in the Colonial Athletic Association standings when they host the struggling Northeastern Huskies in a women’s basketball matchup Sunday at Schar Center. Elon (12-13 overall) enters the contest coming off a 68-54 home win over Campbell on Friday. The Phoenix have shown inconsistency but remain above .500 at home this season. A key performer for Elon is guard Tamia Watkins, who is coming off a strong stretch. She recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in a win over William & Mary on Feb. 8 and scored 16 points in a loss at Drexel on Feb. 13. Northeastern (7-16) snapped a five-game losing streak with a 73-60 home victory over Stony Brook on Feb. 15. Prior to that win, the Huskies had endured a difficult stretch in conference play. Guard Camryn Collins has been a bright spot, averaging 14.3 points over her last seven games. She exploded for 21 points in the win over Stony Brook. The Huskies will need another standout performance from Collins and supporting players like Justice Tramble, who had 15 points and seven rebounds against Stony Brook, to challenge the Phoenix on the road. Northeastern’s defense, which allowed an average of 63.2 points during its recent skid, will be tested by Elon’s balanced attack. Historically, the series has been competitive, adding intrigue to this late-season conference clash. For Elon, the game represents an opportunity to climb toward the middle of the CAA standings. For Northeastern, it is a chance to build momentum from its last outing and play spoiler on the road. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. tip-off on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026. Following this contest, Elon will travel to face Hofstra on Feb. 27, while Northeastern will visit Drexel on the same date.
